Investment Strategy

The new Global Income Program from Absolute Return Capital Advisors (ARCA) invests in high-yield securities and financial instruments to create a diversified portfolio with multiple streams of income. Drawing from the best international opportunities, our objective is to generate 5% to 7% cash yield per year—with additional potential for capital appreciation and currency gains.

This Program takes a global approach to income generation by investing across multiple industries, asset classes, and sectors in a variety of countries. We believe that the aging population in developed nations, the rise of China-led Asian economies, and the global scarcity of natural resources are the most important investment themes of the early 21st Century. By investing in instruments that benefit from these themes—coupled with a strategy of selective diversification—we can help our clients achieve the following goals:

  1. Potential For Capital Appreciation. Our portfolio is designed to generate income, yet contains investments with a significant potential for capital appreciation.
  2. Protection From a Declining U.S. Dollar. The U.S. Dollar has lost 40% of its value against other major currencies since 2002.* An income portfolio that invests in multiple currencies can help protect investors from a further decline in the Dollar.
  3. Portfolio Stability. A portfolio of stocks and bonds drawn from varied global sources may reduce portfolio volatility due to increased diversification.
